CED (Tamil Nadu) established Information Technology Incubator Centre (ITIC) for the benefits of First Generation Technocrat Entrepreneurs in IT Industry as a Joint Venture between Government of Tamil Nadu and Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (Tamil Nadu) at an expenditure of Rs.100 lakhs. The ITIC shall provide incubation facilities to 80 IT Entrepreneurs at a time.
CED (Tamil Nadu) prepared the Diagnostic Study and Detailed Techno-Economic Feasibility Study for the Cereals, Pulses & Staples (CPS) Milling Cluster, sponsored by Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Madurai as the Cluster Development Project under the Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (IIUS), Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India. The Project received a grant-in-aid support of Rs.37 crores for the Food Industry Cluster of Madurai.
CED (Tamil Nadu) prepared the PMRY Course Material in Tamil on the guidelines of Development Commissioner (SSI), Govt. of India, New Delhi, designed the course content for PMRY training and trained the trainers of the all the PMRY Training Institutions identified in Tamil Nadu at the request of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
CED (Tamil Nadu) designed the course content and prepared the course material for the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme when it was launched for the first time in the State. This course material was then reprinted by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce every year for the use of Women EDP Trainees
CED (Tamil Nadu) implemented Entrepreneurship Development Training Scheme for different target groups like Science & Technology Graduates, SC / ST candidates, Women, Rural Youth and Sector Specific Programmes like Coir, Food Processing, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Information Technology, Non-Conventional Energy etc. sponsored by the different Agencies of Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu.
CED (Tamil Nadu) conducted a number of workshops/ seminars/ conferences at the regional and national level on topical issues like Information Technology, Women Entrepreneurship, Small Industry – Future Directions, Role of Non-Government Organizations for mass employment generation, Women Empowerment, Textile Industry, etc. sponsored by the different agencies of Govt. of India and Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
CED (Tamil Nadu) had undertaken a prestigious assignment of International Labour Organization (ILO) for training 2,400 women (mothers of rehabilitated child labourers) in Income Generation Activities in and around Tirupur of Coimbatore District and in and around Sivakasi of Virudhunagar District.
CED (Tamil Nadu) had undertaken the assignment of Fredrick Naumann Foundation, West Germany to train the General Managers of District Industries Centres and Senior Officials of the Industries Department to provide Entrepreneurship Orientation. Around 82 Officers were trained in the first year and based on the success, the scheme was repeated for the next two consequent years from the sponsorship of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce.
CED (Tamil Nadu) assigned the prestigious task of training Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) on Behavioural Change Communication (BCC) Strategy sponsored by Family Health International (FHI), Bangkok and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
CED (Tamil Nadu) recognized by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and VHS-APAC, Chennai for NGO Capacity Building Training Programme on Social Marketing and implemented the scheme of Training more than 600 NGO Staff for the past six years. The NGOs funded by VHS-APAC, TNSACS and CAPACS, Chennai utilized the scheme to train their staff
Based on the success of the NGO Capacity Building Programme on Social Marketing of Condoms, CED (Tamil Nadu) was invited by Government of Nagaland - Nagaland State AIDS Control Society to train the Non-Government Organizations funded by them on NGO Capacity Building Exercise on Social Marketing of Condoms and the 4-day training programme at Kohima, Nagaland during July 2004. Around 30 NGO professionals were trained.
Harvard University, USA identified CED (Tamil Nadu) as their partner agency in their research project to assess the impact of the Sustainable Access for Rural India (SARI) Project on the rural women at Melur, Madurai District. CED (Tamil Nadu) was closely associated with n-Logue Communications Pvt. Ltd, Chennai in identification and training of the Internet Kiosk Operators. The commercial viability of the Internet Kiosks was also assessed at the request of the District Collector.
CED (Tamil Nadu) associated in the prestigious Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) Project of Empowering Women through Enterprises along with Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore, Canadian Consortium of Business Schools (CCBS) and Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS).
CED (Tamil Nadu) had undertaken Labour Market Survey in five Districts of Tamil Nadu viz. Tiruvellore, Kancheepuram, Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal and Virudhunagar to identify employable / marketable skills for adolescent children under the prestigious INDUS Project implemented by International Labour Organization, New Delhi
CED (Tamil Nadu) had handled 15 major industrial consultancy assignments sponsored by Govt. of India and Govt. of Tamil Nadu agencies and also by International organizations such as Ministry of Small Scale Industries, Government of India, Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation (TIIC), Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (TAN-SIDCO), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Fredrick Naumann Foundation, Germany, International Labour Organization (ILO), Southern Regional Office, New Delhi, etc.
CED (Tamil Nadu) has been requested is functioning as the Nodal Agency of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to conduct Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp in the colleges of Tamil Nadu during the year 2005 – 2006 CED (Tamil Nadu) conducted EAC in 95 colleges.
